Design The New Leaf Design Simplicity and eco-friendliness go hand in hand, and the new Nissan LEAF’s design recognises that. Clean lines and neat curves contribute to the aerodynamic feel created by the floating roof and streamlined silhouette, while wraparound head and tail lights give it a contemporary look. The V-Motion grille remains in place but sports blue accents to complement the nine paint colours on offer. The look is finished by 17-inch wheels on N-Connecta models and above. Hop in and you’ll find a neat cabin design that sports futuristic accents to complement the LEAF’s modern drivetrain. The blue highlights of the grille carry through into the stitching, door panels and ambient lighting, while a round drive selector replaces the conventional shift stick. The instrument cluster, meanwhile, is designed for electric power, showing you your remaining charge, while the D-shaped steering wheel provides a sense of sporting fun.
The New Nissan Leaf
Performance The New Leaf Performance Electric charge doesn’t mean a compromise on power. The Nissan LEAF develops an impressive 150PS, ensuring a sprightly drive from the moment you pull away. Acceleration is keen thanks to the immediate torque produced by the electric motor, while a range of 168 miles (WLTP combined cycle) ensures that even long journeys can be completed on a single charge. Should you find yourself needing to top up, the battery can be replenished to 80 percent at a 50kW charging point in as little as 60 minutes. Choosing ECO mode can help you maximise your range by limiting engine output and saving energy, but if you’re really serious about getting the most from your battery, choose Active B mode. This delivers more intense regenerative braking to charge the battery without impacting power.
Technology & Safety The Technology Packed with enough technology to please even the most discerning driver, the new Nissan LEAF delivers a confident and refined drive every time. Acenta models and above feature satellite navigation to ensure your journey form A to B is completed quickly and with minimum disruption, while Bluetooth enables you to stream your favourite music. Enhancing your drive further is Nissan ProPILOT, which assists you with maintaining speed, staying in the centre of your lane and detecting vehicles that are in your blind spot. The LEAF also introduces the cutting-edge e-Pedal, a single pedal that operates acceleration and braking for a more fluent drive. Meanwhile, ProPILOT Park slides you into those tricky spaces with ease – simply press the button and let it do the hard work for you. Such innovations have earned this model a full five-star rating from safety experts Euro NCAP – so you can start every journey with complete peace of mind.
