Each year, Vospers hold an annual charity golf day to raise money for local charities. This year, the three chosen charities were, ‘The Devon and Cornwall Cavitron Fund’, ‘St. Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth’, and ‘Cornwall Hospice Care’.
Vospers returns to the splendid golf club at Trevose each year, not only for the championship golf course, overlooking the coast, that our customers love so much but also because of the first class facilities of the club and the friendly and welcoming nature of the Gammon family, the owners of Trevose.
To mark this year’s annual Vospers charity golf day at Trevose Golf Club in Padstow, representatives from the three chosen charities were invited to a cheque handover last week.
A brilliant £6,000 was raised during the charity golf day and the total figure was split three ways, with £2,000 going to each worthy cause. Since Vospers started the charity golf days at Trevose, the company has managed to raise over £80,000 for local charities. This is an amazing effort from all the contributors – the sponsors, players and the generosity of the Gammon family, and we hope Vospers can continue to raise much needed funds for local charities.
Lorna Baker, Corporate Fundraiser at St. Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth, said, “We are thrilled to have the ongoing support of Vospers, it’s fantastic to know that our local companies are keen to support us. A huge thank you to everyone involved.”
Vospers have a long term commitment to local sports, schools and charities. Vospers have supported ‘The Devon and Cornwall Cavitron Fund’, ‘St. Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth’, and ‘Cornwall Hospice Care’ for a number of years and are keen for these dedicated working relationships to long continue.
Rose Wiltshire, from Cornwall Hospice Care commented, “I would like to thank everyone involved in this wonderful event and congratulations to all on raising such an incredible sum.”
Michael Turner, Managing Director of The Devon and Cornwall Cavitron Fund stated, “We are delighted to have received £2,000 from Vospers. This will go a long way in helping The Devon and Cornwall Cavitron Fund to continue its worthwhile work.”
The golf day was a great success and Vospers are extremely proud of the amount of money that the day raised. Peter Vosper, chairman, is already looking forward to the next charity golf day at Trevose and is hoping to beat this years’ total of £6,000.
Peter said, “Thank you to all the teams, sponsors and Trevose, which has made this a ‘not to be missed’ annual event. Long may it continue.”
