It’s been a while since MG released a sports car, the type of vehicle that was once synonymous with the venerable British marque – and the MG Cyberster is certainly worth the wait.
It looks terrific, with a futuristic design that reflects classic cars of yesteryear, and a retractable (and removable) roof and remote-operated scissor doors that sweep upwards.
The Cyberster is a joy to drive too. As standard, a single electric motor delivers 335bhp and 475Nm of torque, enabling 0-62mph in less than five seconds. Alternatively, twin-motor versions produce 536bhp and 725Nm of torque via a 4WD system, allowing the vehicle to race from 0-62mph in little more than three seconds.
Nevertheless, the Cyberster’s pure-electric powertrain ensures that it’s super-affordable to run and capable of a maximum 360-mile range (77kWh variants). What’s more, it produces zero harmful emissions, which means it's exempt from Clean Air Zones, including those operated in Bath, Bristol and London.
