After choosing your car, having any adaptations made to the vehicle, and driving your car away there is a wealth of support from Vospers Motability.
When you take delivery of your new Vospers Motability car it will already be taxed for the first year. If you live in Great Britain or Northern Ireland we will then arrange for your car to be taxed each year throughout your lease agreement (unless you have chosen to pay tax privately)
The cost of the MOT test is included in your Vospers Motability lease. It checks that each car meets current road safety and environmental standards.
In most parts of the UK, cars over three years old need to be tested each year.
If your car is on a standard three-year lease, it will need an MOT test certificate before you can hand it back, usually about two months before the end of your lease.
Your Vospers Motability Specialist will contact you to book your MOT test towards the end of your lease, but if this has not happened, please contact your dealer as soon as possible
If you are interested in lease extending your vehicle, you will still need an MOT completed within the last two months of your original end date.
If you have a WAV where the lease is longer than three years, you will need an MOT test when it is three years old. Following this, your WAV will undergo an MOT test every 12 months as part of your regular vehicle service.
Your car needs regular servicing to keep it running well. The cost of each service, and any maintenance repairs necessary due to general wear, are included as part of your worry-free package. Servicing will either be at set times during your lease agreement, or when your car has been driven a certain number of miles.
For all car servicing and maintenance, you should bring your car to your Vospers Motability specialist.
Services will usually include the following checks:
- Engine oil
- Windscreen washer fluid
- Engine cooling system
- Tyre tread
- Tyre pressure - including the spare tyre
The service for each type of car will be different. Other checks for brake pads or filters, for example, will be looked at if it is recommended by the manufacturer.
For adaptations fitted at the start of your lease, your installer will notify you if any regular maintenance is required. If this is the case, it will be included as part of your worry-free package.
