An update from our Chairman, Peter Vosper

Following the Prime Minister’s statement to the nation tonight (23/03/2020) Vospers will close for three weeks.

We will only remain open in the service and parts areas for key workers and essential services. Our Service departments will carry out all servicing or MOT’s booked for Tuesday 24th March. We will respond to key workers and essential services requirements through a helpline which will be posted in a further update shortly.

This will mean our new and used vehicle departments will only make deliveries already arranged with customers and any subsequent online sales using our buying online service.

New bookings will be from Tuesday 14th April unless Government advice changes.


A message from our Chairman, Peter Vosper

We are writing to inform you of our actions from the growing threat of the Coronavirus to protect the well-being of all our employees and customers.

We have been following the Public Health England advice as well as employing additional actions to ensure the continuity of our services. This includes the setting of a specialist action team which includes senior management, HR, Health and Safety, our Managing Director Nick Vosper and myself as Chairman.

We are currently open for business and have taken the following actions:

  • Our specialist cleaning company to our premises has experience of working in hospitals and will be focussing on touch points such as door handles, light switches and personal hygiene areas using the appropriate sanitisation products
  • All vehicle cleaning and delivery staff will be using disposable gloves and will be regularly disinfecting courtesy, demonstrator and customer cars focussing on car door handles, gear knobs and steering wheels. Whilst in our care all cars will be fitted with disposable plastic steering wheel, gear knob and seat covers.
  • Vospers have also invested in a number of certified sanitisation units for use in sales and service vehicles for those customers that are particularly concerned.
  • All staff and customer facing areas have been issued with bottle hand sanitisers and instructions regarding regularly washing hands in line with government advice. Posters have been deployed to reinforce this message throughout the business. We will shortly be installing further fixed sanitisation units in all customer facing areas.
  • Introduction of a no hand shake policy across the Vospers Group
  • Some supply of stocks of manufacturer vehicles may be affected, however we have good coverage across most brands
  • All business travel, training and business conferences including visits from manufacturers and suppliers have been suspended until further notice
  • We are currently assessing the numbers of employees that can work from home and segregating into smaller teams utilising secure software
  • Where customers are self-isolating we are able to offer a delivery and collection service subject to availability
  • Our sales customers are still able to buy a used car or van using our Buy Online service

Vospers are a family business and will take all reasonable steps to deliver an uninterrupted service whilst maintaining the health and safety of our customers and employees.

As a result, we would ask you to inform us prior to your visit if you have been to any of the affected locations listed on the government website or if you are/have been affected by the Coronavirus, so we can make alternative arrangements for you to avoid you having to visit the business.
