Employees from across Devon and Cornwall are taking part in a wear something purple to work day today at Vospers, as a show of support for International Women's Day. In addition to staff showing support by wearing purple, Vospers has also partnered with local award-winning Women's and Children's charity, Trevi Women.
Trevi Women was chosen to be the official charity partner for Vospers' International Women's Day activities, with staff encouraged to promote the Trevi Shero campaign, and to nominate their own Shero.
What is a Shero? A Shero can be any awesome woman you know; your mum, your nan, your sister(s), your best friend(s), your colleague(s), local volunteer(s), or any female that you believe deserves to be celebrated! The Shero campaign by Trevi for International Women's Day encourages people to nominate a Shero in their lives. For just a £5 donation to Trevi as part of their Shero campaign, your nominated Shero will receive a surprise 'Shero! pack' in the post celebrating their awesomeness. Vospers HR Director Wendy Horswell said: "I am proud to be working in a business that takes diversity and inclusion seriously."
Vospers is working to help #BreakTheBias by encouraging more women into the automotive industry in a range of roles across Devon & Cornwall.
Wendy went on to say: "Being a women in the motor industry has given me more opportunities than I ever felt were possible, challenging me both personally and professionally."
Many of the Shero nominations by Vospers staff have been for family members and friends, but one Shero among us that has been recognised today is Wendy herself, who was surprised to receive her Shero pack celebrating her awesomeness as nominated by her team. Who is your Shero? Nominate them today with a donation of just £5 to celebrate their awesomeness here.
