Human Resources is an essential part of any business, looking at the interests and wellbeing of our people is critical to our success as a family business. Our internal HR department oversee everything related to our people including our employee policies, benefits, payroll, and of course recruitment.
I started my career in HR in the private healthcare sector firstly working as a Payroll Officer and then adding HR to my portfolio and working my way up to Payroll & HR Manager for a private hospital group, achieving a National Diploma in Payroll Management (2001) and a Master’s Degree (Merit) in Personnel & Development in 2010.
I joined Vospers in February 2014 as their Group Payroll & HR Manager, being invited onto the Board as HR Director in August 2021. One of the things I love about HR is that it's constantly growing and changing. From compliance and practice to new technology and employee relationships. It's never boring and that’s what keeps me engaged and moving forward.
Moving from private healthcare to the motor industry was certainly a challenge, but I soon found that I was working with a great team of people right across the business all helping to make Vospers an exciting place to work.
I lead an HR team of 3 excellent individuals, all of whom have a passion for working with people, and supporting the business objectives that are aligned to Human Resource responsibilities. It is a small team who take pride in providing a professional, dedicated and supportive HR service.
I meet lots of new people to the business, and they all bring something different that adds value to the team. For me, you don’t have to have a passion for cars, but it helps! I look for people who have a natural ability to work with a team, can see beyond the norm and deliver something exceptional in whatever area of the business they work. Someone who can strive to be the very best they can whilst also supporting their colleagues, and upholding our Core Values in everything they do.
